Tupelo Jo

I have been making things by hand from a young age. I love making things that people can use. I learned to make books by hand so that friends and family could have journals, personal baby books, or wedding books. I learned to refinish furniture so that desks, hutches, and doors about to be thrown away are now what sits underneath this computer and what adorns my walls, my home. It has become my passion to make something useful out of the scraps, the parts, and the pieces of what I have in front of me.

This passion was met with a timely discovery of surface pattern design. I am able to paint, draw, arrange, color, and create out of parts and pieces to create something useful for others. My goal is to continue to work by hand, learning to create new things and applying them to design to make beautiful things for others. It is my hope that with each design, you feel its authenticity with every paint or pen stroke. Every mark made can be traced right back to the sketchbook that sits above this old refinished desk, in this cozy little home, straight from my heart.

Love, Casey

Why Tupelo Jo?

Tupelo Jo is a name I chose when I started selling handmade books on Etsy in 2016. “Tupelo Honey” is a Van Morrison song that I always loved. Since then I began to weave a lot of connections into this dear old song. Jo is my middle name, and thus, Tupelo Jo was created.
